Dr. Bill Caraher is a professor of history at the University of North Dakota. I have been following his blog posts about the Roman Empire. Dr. Caraher does much research on the Romans because he has also done archeological digs. In some of his lectures he talked about Romes need to conquer. Another topic well covered was how Rome masked its hard times with festivities. I feel like people should download and listen to his lecturehttp://militaryhistoryblog.wordpress.com/.
The next person I followed was Daniel Sauerwein. He stressed the importance of the frontier battles from 1607-1815 in America. Once of the most important battles was the battle of Trenton in the American revolution. George Washington crossed the Delaware river on Christmas Eve. Once he did that he ambushed the Hessian troops. The Hessians were German mercenaries hired by the British to fight the Americans.
The third person I followed was an Indian named Swethareddy. She has looked up so much on the sinking of the Titanic. She talked about the dimensions of the massive ship. The Titanic weighed over 46,000 tons and was over eleven stories high. It cost 7.5 million dollars to build the Titanic. Today that would be about 400 million dollars. Also the primary cause of the ship sinking was it running into an iceberg.
Moin Ansari is a person who has blogged about the history of Pakistan. He talked about the 1947 riots which background dates back to 1906. This was mostly taking place in Bengal. There has also been a recent side note to this blog about Raj Rajaratnam. This man was arrested on friday for producing more than 25 million dollars in illegal profit. He was one of six hedge fund managers caught in inside trading.
The last blog I followed was kinda interesting and posted by an anonymous person. This person discussed war in films. He asked the question is it a good thing for students to watch movies about war. He argued that most movies people watch on war have a ton of Hollywood extras which deviate from the facts. On the other hand he said it was a good thing cause getting students on the idea of learning is a good thing. If students learn two facts out of a Hollywood movie like Pearl Harbor it is better then them watching cartoons all day. Overall I personally think it is a good idea that people should watch some or one war movie in his/her lifetime.

Major, have you contacted the individuals on these blogs? Have you left comments for them? A Personal Learning Network is more than just following blog post. You need to contact these individuals, create a professional group of individuals that you can contact and learn from during your teaching career. You can not create a good PLN in just one week.
